Why competing on price was the wrong move for BathBombs, and how the listing was rewritten to sell on value instead.
What happened
The challenge
A premium bath bomb for men priced at $6 a unit, in a marketplace flooded with cheaper alternatives. With 500 units in stock and almost no movement, the product was tying up cash and heading for long-term storage fees.
Our approach
Rather than cutting the price to match the market, we positioned the product on its premium value: what it is made of, who it is for and why it is worth more than the alternatives. The listing and the advertising were rebuilt around that one argument.
The result
All 500 units sold out, driving a 56% increase in sales and $3,000 in revenue for a product that had been sitting still. The price held throughout, so the margin came with it.
